You lost me when you washed the rice, you wash the rice to get rid of excess starch when you don't want it e.g. for you nice fluffy long grain rice. You literally want the starch here to thicken it.
Chuck it all in a low oven with nutmeg instead of cinnamon. Only needs to be stirred for a couple of times . Allow a skin to form and that is the best part. Can also be done in a slow cooker.
The Danish put chopped almonds in it and top with cherry sauce. It is eaten at Christmas. The cook hides a whole almond in the pudding and the person who finds it gets a present.
Aw my Kerry was going through your posts. Came across the one Chris and yourself cleaning. June 21 in the house yous used to get renovation done. Made me laugh out loud. Chris cleaning speed up a bit. Didn't see that bit first time around. Thankyou for making me laugh. Oh made the rice. So yum. π

i make mine with nutmeg rather than cinnamon, might give cinnamon a go though. I also just bang all mine in the slow cooker for about 4 hours, nice and easy pudding
I love rice pudding, but I love the skin on a rice pudding as a child me and my sister used to fight over it. It's the best part. I did cook rice pudding in a slow cooker ones which trun out really good.
