They all looked delish 😋
Your mushrooms and spinach are gorgeous! So lovely and healthy looking. My family lived on a farm with a big garden until I was 7, and my Mom was pretty casual about washing veg. But supermarket veg, especially from industrial type farms as is depressingly the norm in the US, except maybe organic veg, has to be washed. I know standards for agriculture are higher in the EU. I don’t know if Brexit has changed that in the UK.
I love your hair!! Really opens up your face!
I always add onions and spuds to a frittata, but that may be just me.
This is a wonderful challenge! I have watched all of you today! Love your channel, Claire. 💜
Good tips, thanks for sharing. For the first variant I would let tomatoes fresh and grill the mushrooms only with some herbs (parsley or similar). For a good meal I need some fresh vegetables: tomatoes in this case or cucumber, or peppers… This winter I have discovered fresh turnip. I like the taste very much and it is not so expensive in my stores.
Great ideas! I have been adding frozen riced cauliflower into my oats lately. You can’t taste it because it takes on the other flavors of your oatmeal, but it cuts the carbs and gives you an extra serving of vegetables. It’s a pretty affordable ingredient in our area, about $2 per bag, and a bag lasts me about a week.
Fab breakfast ideas 😃 🤤
Great ideas Claire.
Never had peanut 🥜 butter in my portage, but I am going to try it next time. 🤤
I like tinned plum tomatoes in a cooked breakfast. It all looked really nice. Thanks for joining in the collaboration. It's so interesting to see what other people eat and it made a nice change to look at breakfast foods.
Claire your ommlet looked yummy. I'll have to try making the same one soon. And your oats, and blueberries liked delish. Your three meals look Tempting. Love Maria 💗 xx
😊
morning Claire, I was just sitting here wondering what to eat today and you have helped me out; Going to have the oats for brekkie, but topped with an apple, dieting here and then for lunch the omolette; I hadn't thought about the idea of putting peppers in it, so its going to be one with onions and peppers; yummy; keep up the good work x
Thank you Claire .x
They all look delicious, especially the porridge with peanut butter.
Very healthy vegetarian meals! Thanks for the lovely recipes!
A bit of garlic and black pepper or fresh basil with the mushroom tomato toast would bring it to a new level. I think I am going to try it like that.
Hi, Claire. I live in the States and yes, I would have washed ALL the veggies you put in your omelet! 🙂
Breakfast is a favorite in your house. Your omelet looks so good Claire !!
Yum! I do frittata for an evening meal with salad and bread sometimes – just use up random bits of veg. Good tip re the frozen fruit – thank you!
I never wash anything either. Americans get a little ridiculous these days with thr wash, soaking in vinegar, etc. Mushrooms espeically shouldn't be washed.
Thanks for the meal ideas….
Those breakfasts look delicious!!
Fritata has potato in it xx
Your prices are amazing. I think the difference between a frittata and an omelet is the ingredients are mixed together in a frittata and in an omelet the eggs are cooked and the other ingredients are a filling inside the rolled eggs. Yes, we wash our produce. tfs 🥰💐🌷🌞🌛🐣🐤🐰💗✝🇺🇲
I, too, have been calculating the cost of portions with my recipes. In this way I can meal plan better to fit my budget, including making choices when we want to have something more special. I have used today’s report that 1 English pound = $1.32 and here are meals I make (calculated to show English cost).
1. Chicken, potatoes and green beans in marinade in crockpot .55p per person ($.72)
2. Pea soup and chickpea bread .78 p per person ($1.03)
3. Spinach-potato quiche w/fruit salad .90 p per person ($1.19)
4. Bratwurst & Potato w/fried eggplant .93 p per person ($1.23)
5. Burrito omelet w/hash browns .70 p ($.92)
BTW, my pricebook is linked to these recipes, so as I enter the latest price, the recipe cost automatically updates.
(I think Shoestring Jane would be proud of my Nerd-dom!)
Great filling cheap breakfast ideas thanks for sharing. I’m definitely trying the peanut butter banana oats sounds very yummy 👍 xx
They look so delicious Claire.
Yummy!!
Great video Claire. The tomato and mushroom on toast looked delicious. A nice poached egg on top would turn it into a nice brunch.
Love your new hair do!!! It really suits you.
Great video claire
Love using up stuff left over in freezer, cupboards, fridge
I also love overnight oats very yummy x
It Looks really good. The eggs with vegetabels are also really good for Lunch,or Dinner👍 thank you for the ideas
Love, love, love eggs and vegetables for breakfast. Thanks for the video, Claire and I love your new haircut!
Great video Claire. Could you please advise what make your toaster is, it seems to toast the bread evenly. Mine only toasts part of the bread and then I have to flip it over!! Also are your pans Russell Hobbs, I need some new pans and the Russell Hobbs ones I've seen have a red interior. My mum always washed fruit and veg and I do too.
Thanks Claire..what a great collaboration..you ladies keep the interest going in value for money tasty meals..💐x
Will be trying your version of the porridge. I love porridge and banana but will be trying it will the peanut butter added.
Frittata usually has cooked potatoes in it so it is a bit more dense.
Great ideas Claire. You are so right about snacks and other meals besides dinner taking up a lot of the food budget for many of us. Great get new ideas. I prefer savoury in the morning also.
All look very good, but the mushroom and tomato toast made me want to go have some!
I only wash apples or pears as I can’t afford organic and wash off any insecticides
I love savoury breakfasts too x
Nice ideas 👍 I make a Jelly Pod dessert using Jelly & half a tub of yoghurt it’s absolutely delicious & very inexpensive xXx
Hi Claire . Your breakfast would be my lunch and a very nice one at that . I can't eat a thing in the morning , only a mug of unsweetened black coffee .no snacks ever ,most French adults don't do snacks , only kids around 4 pm .
Frittata is baked/cooked in the oven. An omelette is cooked in the pan on the hob. That’s the difference (or that I’ve always assumed was the case) xx
Hi Claire
Delicious goodness 😋 you can freeze the yogurt. Just made sure to turn the tub upside down when placing it in the freezer.
Those all look delicious! I love the blueberry thing, I never would have thought to cook them until they were like a syrup ❤️
