Made these beans this afternoon. Easy and delicious. I used two bouillon cubes. I added the cooked beans to some frozen rice that I cooked in the microwave and some diced cukes and tomatoes on top. I was too lazy to soak the beans so I cooked them for 40 minutes in the instant pot. I like the idea of easy no fuss seasonings and the addition of the whole onion.

4 years later and here I am looking for a great instant pot black bean recipe- If you happen to see this and can answer it for me do you add your cumin and other seasonings after or when do you add seasonings or do you just eat them with the onion and the flavoring from the vegetable stock?

My husband and I always had issues with dry beans cooking fully even when soaked. We always at down and altered family heritage meals to using canned beans after so many failed attempts. Yesterday he got in the mood since all he could find was dried beans in our location with grocery shortages and remembered this video. He pulled it up and made it in our pressure cooker we have a different type so he had to run the time twice to get the full amount. He fell in love with this method and shocked himself. This was first time he made dried beans and they came out perfect. Thank you so much and can't wait to try some of our dried beans once we're done with this pot we made. Even our son who has autism and won't touch chunks of onion ate every bit even the onion pieces that were in plane site. He even asked for more.

Great video, Ladies!!! I am slowly working on getting away from using canned beans. My grandmother used to always use dried beans and soak them. Love cooking mothers! #OldSchool ;D

I can’t deal with the interrupting in the middle of the mother’s sentences😩 It’s so distracting to listen to, I can’t hear one clear uninterrupted sentence.

@5:15 I would like that onion idea, except for the fact that if you have a bad onion and it's bad only in the center, you would never know because you haven't taken the time to chop it open… So one must pay attention to that onion before cooking it whole or avoid doing so! 👀

I almost didn't watch because of the title I don't like sweet beans like BBQ beans. Even after I realized the name of your channel I wasn't sure. I hate watching a long videos and realizing almost at the end that I'm not at all interested in the content! Don't let me down I'm almost half way in right now. 😣😣🤞🤞

You call that simple? That’s an overstatement. There are more ingredients in dog food. Why not just open a can of Bush’s black bean soup from Walmart.
