Wow Fantastic! I have been really enjoying all of your videos! I’ll definitely have to give this a try. I love the presentation of your video. You make it look easy! I also make cooking videos for YouTube. I love to learn from talented creators like you! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Made these beans this afternoon. Easy and delicious. I used two bouillon cubes. I added the cooked beans to some frozen rice that I cooked in the microwave and some diced cukes and tomatoes on top. I was too lazy to soak the beans so I cooked them for 40 minutes in the instant pot. I like the idea of easy no fuss seasonings and the addition of the whole onion.
4 years later and here I am looking for a great instant pot black bean recipe- If you happen to see this and can answer it for me do you add your cumin and other seasonings after or when do you add seasonings or do you just eat them with the onion and the flavoring from the vegetable stock?
Beautiful ladies making beans.
My husband and I always had issues with dry beans cooking fully even when soaked. We always at down and altered family heritage meals to using canned beans after so many failed attempts. Yesterday he got in the mood since all he could find was dried beans in our location with grocery shortages and remembered this video. He pulled it up and made it in our pressure cooker we have a different type so he had to run the time twice to get the full amount. He fell in love with this method and shocked himself. This was first time he made dried beans and they came out perfect. Thank you so much and can't wait to try some of our dried beans once we're done with this pot we made. Even our son who has autism and won't touch chunks of onion ate every bit even the onion pieces that were in plane site. He even asked for more.
That's funny . Im half Japanese and I do the finger thing with my rice and beans too. My Grandmother taught me that way.
I am definitely gonna make these…. just need to decide which beans to make from my pantry stash
I liked and subscribed to your channel today. Your recipes look delicious and nutritious. Here’s to a healthier me in 2020!🥳 So love the intergenerational convection; Food is Heritage. Thanks!🥰
You can do it in the crockpot too.
that “Finger measuring method” is a classic filipino thing! LOL 🙂 My mom does too!
Hey I’m Asian and that’s what I do for my rice lol lmao
yummy
Great video, Ladies!!! I am slowly working on getting away from using canned beans. My grandmother used to always use dried beans and soak them. Love cooking mothers! #OldSchool ;D
Can you use a crock pot
Your mom is really cute. She needs her own vegan channel. lol
This video made me so happy. 🙂
You look like a real life filter. Like the ones that make your eyes bigger. lol
I can’t deal with the interrupting in the middle of the mother’s sentences😩 It’s so distracting to listen to, I can’t hear one clear uninterrupted sentence.
Measuring water level with fingers is prevalent in India too. I think it's an Asian thing !
Love your kindness t-shirt!
What an amazing daughter and mother combo
Loved the video!!! Has your family always been vegan?
Beans not beings!!!
7:24 for cooking in pot
that's how I measure water for beans or rice too!
You guys seriously deserve so much more subscribers 🙂 you guys are awesome
I’m Filipino too, rice measure method lol same way from my mom
@5:15 I would like that onion idea, except for the fact that if you have a bad onion and it's bad only in the center, you would never know because you haven't taken the time to chop it open… So one must pay attention to that onion before cooking it whole or avoid doing so! 👀
I like that whole onion trick!!!! 👍😃
I like the mom too she looks so sweet 🙂
OMG your mom in Filipina?!
Daughter is very cute, she seems Latin…
I almost didn't watch because of the title I don't like sweet beans like BBQ beans. Even after I realized the name of your channel I wasn't sure. I hate watching a long videos and realizing almost at the end that I'm not at all interested in the content! Don't let me down I'm almost half way in right now. 😣😣🤞🤞
what do you serve the beans with, is it to be added to other recipes
it is really fun when someone in your household is vegetarian or vegan as you do. but sad i am the only one
When you soak the beans, do you keep them in the fridge?
That’s the traditionL way to measure water in China
My mom measures her rice that way also, she's chamorro lol
You call that simple? That’s an overstatement. There are more ingredients in dog food. Why not just open a can of Bush’s black bean soup from Walmart.
